The Modern Bardic Order

The Bramble Protectorate

Modern Bards in Service to the Community

⟁ ⟁ ⟁

The Bard has always been the voice of truth, the keeper of integrity, and the shield of the people. Today, those thorns are digital.

Rooted in Tradition

The Bard Was Always
a Protector of Truth

⟁ ⟁ ⟁

In ancient Ireland, the Bard did not merely entertain β€” they were the sworn guardians of truth and communal memory. A Bard's Γ‘er (satire) could strip a false king of his honour before the entire tribe. Their testimony was the only proof that mattered when records failed. They investigated, verified, named, and exposed.

That mandate has never expired. The landscape has changed β€” the fires of Samhain have been joined by server rooms, the mead hall by message boards, the genealogical rolls by digital profiles β€” but the duty remains the same: bear witness, speak truth, protect the community.

The Bramble Protectorate is the Order of the Silver Rose fulfilling this ancient role in the modern world. We are Bards who have taken up the tools of the digital age β€” cybersecurity, open-source intelligence, fact verification, and digital safety β€” and placed them in service to the broader pagan and Druidic community.

The Bramble Oath

"We do not grow fangs for our own gain. The thorn exists to protect the rose. We offer our skills freely, in honour, without judgment of tradition β€” to any community of good faith that comes to us in need."

What We Offer

Our Services

⟁ ⟁ ⟁

All services are provided free of charge to pagan, Druidic, and spiritually-aligned communities. No community is too small. No threat is too minor to mention.

Cybersecurity Guidance

We help communities and orders protect themselves online β€” from securing social media accounts and websites, to advising on password hygiene, two-factor authentication, and safe communications. We can review your community's digital security posture and provide practical, jargon-free recommendations.

  • Account security & recovery advice
  • Website vulnerability awareness
  • Safe communications practices
  • Data handling guidance for small orders

Fact-Checking & Verification

Misinformation spreads fast in spiritual communities. We verify claims, investigate the origins of circulating information, check the credentials of public figures, and help communities discern truth from fabrication β€” without taking sides on matters of sincere theological difference.

  • Verification of historical & mythological claims
  • Investigation of circulating misinformation
  • Background checks on community leaders
  • Source validation & research support

Cybersleuthing & OSINT

When a threat to your community exists online β€” a harasser, an infiltrator, a predator using spiritual spaces for harm β€” we apply open-source intelligence techniques to gather lawful, public information that can help your community protect itself and, where appropriate, involve proper authorities.

  • Investigation of online threats & harassment
  • Identification of bad-faith actors in communities
  • Aggregating public records & digital footprints
  • Documentation for law enforcement reporting

Community Digital Safety

We assist communities in building resilience against coordinated attacks, hate campaigns, doxxing attempts, and the infiltration of pagan and Druidic spaces by bad-faith actors. We provide guidance on moderation, crisis response, and rebuilding after an incident.

  • Doxxing response & mitigation
  • Hate campaign documentation & strategy
  • Moderation policy review
  • Post-incident recovery support

All work is conducted ethically, within the law, and in complete confidentiality. We do not share information between requesting communities.

Who Can Request Our Help?

⟁ ⟁ ⟁

The Bramble Protectorate exists for the broader community β€” not just for members of the Order of the Silver Rose. Any community operating in good faith and in the spirit of sincere spiritual practice may request our assistance.

  • Druidic groves and orders
  • Wiccan and Witchcraft communities
  • Heathen, Asatru, and Norse reconstructionist groups
  • Celtic reconstructionist orders
  • Hellenist, Roman, and other polytheist communities
  • Animist and earth-spirituality groups
  • Ceremonial magic orders and lodges
  • Independent spiritual practitioners facing targeted harm

We ask only that requests be made in good faith. We do not arbitrate internal disputes between community members, nor do we take sides in theological differences. We respond to genuine threats and safety concerns.

If you carry the skills of the digital age and the heart of a Bard β€” this is your calling

The Bramble Protectorate is a wing of the Order of the Silver Rose open to Bards who possess skills in cybersecurity, digital investigation, research, fact-checking, or community safety β€” and who wish to put those skills in service to the broader pagan world.

You do not need to be a security professional. Many of our most effective members are simply careful, methodical people who know how to research, document, and communicate clearly. The Bard's gifts β€” attention to detail, love of truth, care for community β€” translate directly into this work.

Members of the Bramble Protectorate remain full members of the Order of the Silver Rose. This is not a separate organization, but a dedicated arm of the guild β€” a fellowship of Bards who have chosen to take up this particular thorn alongside their art.

What We Look For

  • Integrity and a genuine commitment to truth over convenience
  • Discretion β€” the ability to hold sensitive information in confidence
  • Some background in cybersecurity, OSINT, research, or community moderation
  • Patience and methodical thinking under pressure
  • Alignment with the ethos and spiritual tradition of the Order
